Drum Fantasy Camp is excited to announce that Aaron
Spears (Usher/Carrie Underwood)!
Considered by
many to be one of the most passionate yet humble
musicians of today, Aaron Spears is now the subject of
major attention on the world music circuit. His style is
one born from those that inspired him, the likes of
Travis Barker, Dave Weckl, Dennis Chambers, Papa Jo
Jones, and Stewart Copeland amongst others.
Aaron is the quintessential R&B drummer, and his “in the
pocket” style of playing and authentic delivery is
unparalleled in the world of drummers today. |

The 2013 Drum Fantasy Camp
will once again bring together drummers of all
ages, styles, and playing levels, to attend
concerts and small group learning sessions with
the world's greatest drummers.
So far,
Thomas Lang, Steve Smith,
and Dave Weckl are on board!
We'll be adding more amazing teachers along the
way.
Returning for our incredible concerts
and Jam Nights (where YOU get to perform): bassist

Chrissi Poland (Moby/Scissor Sisters),
and guitarist/vocalist Vinny Valentino

Drum Fantasy Camp Turkey Wraps Up! |
|
|
The first-ever international Drum Fantasy Camp wrapped
up today! The camp was held at the beautiful Bilkent
hotel in Ankara, Turkey.
Steve Smith, Thomas
Lang, Jojo Mayer, and Teymuralp Merter Fosforoglu were
the drumming instructors. As always, our world-class
band opened the camp with a blowout concert!
Baron Browne (bass), Tom Coster
(keys), Chrissi Poland
(vocals), and Vinny Valentino (guitar)
brought down the house - and also ran our jam nights,
where the attendees got to play!
On the closing
night, legendary jazz fusion group Vital Information
performed to a huge crowd!
Thanks and gratitude
to the amazing people of Turkey, including the hard

Turkish Camp Announced! |

Drum Fantasy Camp is going
international! The first annual camp in
Turkey will take place February 6-10 in
Ankara, Turkey!
Drummers
Thomas Lang, Jojo Mayer,
and Steve Smith will
join John Benitez
(bass), Chrissi Poland
(vocals), and Vinny Valentino
(guitar) for classes, evening jams, and
two concerts!

The sixth annual Drum Fantasy Camp took
place August 9-13 in Cleveland. Keith
Carlock, Peter Erskine, Will Kennedy,
Steve Smith, and Dave Weckl were the
featured drum instructors. Retired
Cincinnati Symphony percussionist Bill
Platt joined Peter Erskine's classes for
lessons in great hand technique!

Clinic and Concert Tickets on Sale! |

Tickets are now on sale for the August 9
clinic
and all-star concert at Cleveland's House of Blues! The
clinic starts at Noon and the concert starts at 7:30
p.m.
The clinic features all five drumming
instructors. They will perform together and run a
roundtable discussion. Topics will run the gamut -
techincal, musical, and educational.
The concert
will feature all five instructors sitting in with
bassist John Benitez, keyboardist Jay Oliver, singer
Chrissi Poland, and guitarist Vinny Valentino! It will
be a night of jazz, funk, and lots of "pop!"
Full-time and four-class packages include one ticket to
both of these events!

Keyboard Players! |

Registration is now open for bass, guitar and
keyboard players! You can take classes
with John Benitez, Jay Oliver or Vinny Valentino!
These classes will run very much the way our
drumming classes do. You will take two three-hour
classes per day for four days - and - you'll join the
drum campers and instructors at our three Jam Nights!
You'll even get to jam with the band, AND get a free
ticket to the opening House of Blues concert!

Benitez Joins Staff! |
|
|
Grammy award winning bassist John Benitez has joined the
staff of Drum Fantasy
Camp. He will perform at both concerts, and accompany
attendees during our three Jam Nights!
John has
recorded and performed with top players around the
world, including Chick Corea and Eddie Palmieri. His
solid groove and his mastery of Latin rhythms puts him
among the industry's elite. He's also a fantastic human
being!

Will Kennedy! |
|
|
Will Kennedy, the fantastic
longtime drummer of the legendary
fusion group The Yellowjackets, has joined the Drum
Fantasy Camp staff!
Will is an amazing addition
to the staff and we're lucky to have him! His amazing
groove and teaching chops will leave attendees with
plenty to think about and practice.

Registration Opens for the 2012 Drum Fantasy Camp |

Drum Fantasy Camp.
The camp will
take place August 9-13 at the Hyatt
Regency Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. Keith

full-time instructor will be added,

DFC at
the NAMM Show |
|
|
Drum Fantasy Camp attended the 2012 NAMM
Show this past January.
The show
attracted more than 90,000 attendees,
representing the music industry in
hardware, software, music publishing,
and more. DFC director Steven Orkin
visited many of the camp's sponsors and
artists.
DFC instructors Peter
Erskine, Steve Smith, and Dave Weckl
performed during NAMM. It was another
amazing year! |

2011 Drum Fantasy Camp Wrapup |
|
|
Drum Fantasy Camp wrapped up its 5th
annual camp today.
77 full-time
campers of all ages and from 16
countries attended. The Mike Stern Band
featuring Tom Kennedy and Bob
Franceschini opened the camp. Dave Weckl
performed with The Jam Night Band on the
last night of the camp.
