Drum Fantasy Camp wrapped up on August 7 after another amazing camp! DFC returned three former instructors - Simon Phillips, Chris Coleman and Mike Mangini - plus the very respected Bruce Becker and our all-star band!

The band featured bassist Hagar Ben Ari (Scary Pockets/The Late Late Show with James Corden), keyboardist Stu Mindeman (Kurt Elling), singer Chrissi Poland (Michael Bolton/Moby), and guitarist Vinny Valentino (George Benson/Vital Information).

For the very first time, the camp's main concert was a club date! They performed two supercharged sets at the world-famous Baked Potato jazz club! The intimate venue was electric!

The next four days included four days of classes with each of the drumming instructors. Bruce Becker went overtime for each class, delivering nearly 7 hours of instruction each day! Simon Phillips got everyone involved, playing along with him in each class. Chris Coleman delivered his legendary class - speaking poetically on a number of topics and getting everyone up to accompany him on bass! Mike Mangini also got the class involed with his prolific teaching approach.

On the last day, Simon Phillips taught an introductory recording class at Fever Studio in Burbank. 12 lucky attendees got to work with Simon - micing up a kit, getting sounds, and getting into the recording process.

Special thanks to the Colburn School, Omni Hotel at California Plaza and Fever Studios for amazing accommodations!
