Drum Fantasy Camp returned for its second year in Los Angeles! This time, we took advantage of some new facilities - and brought back a key part of the camp that past attendees loved!

The camp opened on August 4 at "1534," formerly Live House Hollywood. Just a stone's throw from the hotel, the room featured a great sound system and lighting.

Attendees enjoyed a three-hour roundtable discussion (and performance) featuring our four drumming instructors: David Garibaldi, Gary Husband, Larnell Lewis and Dave Weckl. In the evening, our incredible band joined these great drummers for a very memorable concert.

The band featured bassist Hagar Ben Ari (The Late Late Show with James Corden), keyboardist Stu Mindeman (Kurt Elling), singer Chrissi Poland (Michael Bolton/Moby), and guitarist Vinny Valentino (George Benson/Vital Information).

Some fun and unexpected highlights of the evening: Dave Weckl performing Aerosmith's "Walk This Way," Gary Husband performing "In The Air Tonight," and all the drummers playing together for an incredible ending!

The next four days included four days of classes with each of the drumming instructors. Dave Weckl's class included a groove element with Hagar Ben Ari on bass and Vinny Valentino on guitar. David Garibaldi worked his class through a 53 page handout filled with great grooves!. Larnell Lewis inspired everyone with wisdom and got everyone up and playing. Gary Husband acommpanies each attendees both on drums and keyboards!

Simon Phillips stopped by to attend Gary's class - and Brazilian phenom Bruno Valverde stopped by to attend Dave Weckl's class!

The Jam Nights were incredibly fun. Each attendee got up to play with the band, and the instructors also sat in. Gary Husband wowed the audience with his keyboard playing and accompanied Dave Weckl during one of the tunes.

The camp ended with a special day in the studio with veteran engineer/producer Dennis Moody.
